QuireDeck

Privacy policy

Last updated July 12, 2026

QuireDeck is a client for your self-hosted BookOrbit server, or another BookOrbit server you choose and trust. It does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking, and the app developer does not collect personal data through the app.

Data handled by the app

QuireDeck sends the server address, username, and password you enter to the BookOrbit server you select so that it can sign you in. Your credentials are not sent to the QuireDeck developer. Authentication information is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.

The app receives library metadata, cover images, media files, reading and listening progress, bookmarks, annotations, private notes, and account information from your BookOrbit server. It may send progress, bookmarks, annotations, private notes, reading status, and activity records back to that server when you use the corresponding features.

Downloaded books and cached account data are stored on your device. Local data is separated by BookOrbit server and account. Signing out locks that account's local data; downloaded data can be removed from QuireDeck.

Server operator

The operator of the BookOrbit server you connect to controls the data stored by that server. For a self-hosted instance, that operator may be you. If another person or organization runs the server, its privacy practices are separate from QuireDeck; contact that operator to access, correct, or delete server-side account data.

Network security

QuireDeck supports HTTPS and warns before sending credentials to an HTTP server. HTTPS should be used whenever possible. If you approve an HTTP server, credentials and other data may be visible to others on the network.

Apple and TestFlight

Apple may collect diagnostics, crash information, and TestFlight feedback under Apple's own privacy terms when you install a beta through TestFlight.
